About the club

The TCU Philosophy Club was officially founded in January, 2003. Our goal is to provide students who are interested in philosophy and in general intellectual enrichment with a forum for meeting with one another outside of class and discussing important questions such as: What is the meaning of life? What is the way we ought to live? What in the world does that movie have to do with philosophy? Our club is fairly informal: membership shall be open to any person, animal, plant, or mineral-provided that he or she is interested in philosophy, open to the ideas of others, and eager to challenge his or her worldview.

Meetings

Meetings are open to anyone and everyone. We are currently meeting every Thursday evening somewhere in Reed Hall. We alternate each week from showing a movie related to philosophy, to having discussion nights wherein we invite a guest lecturer to lead debate about interesting topics. These topics are not limited to philosophy proper, and many times cover subjects a little too controversial for the classroom. Check the online schedule for specifics.
